Rimantadine is an antiviral drug, amantadine derivative, or medantana, used as an antiparkinsonic agent, and which, together with that specific chemotherapeutic drug with antiviral activity. Rimantadine is active against different strains of influenza A virus (especially A2), is active against tick-borne encephalitis viruses (Central European and Russian spring-summer), which belong to the group of Arboviruses of the Flaviviridae family. Pflu prevention: adults - 50 mg 1 time per day, for 30 days.
Prevention of tick-borne encephalitis: no later than 48 hours after a tick bite - 100 mg 2 times a day, with an interval of 12 hours, for 3-5 days, risk groups (persons living or staying in a forest area) - 100 mg 2 times a day for 15 days.
Treatment of acute herpes infection: 100 mg / day for 1 reception within 3 days, prevention of exacerbations - 100 mg 1 time in 3 days.
Patients with epilepsy and anticonvulsant therapy in a history of prescribed in a maximum daily dose of 100 mg / day (while the appointment of anticonvulsant therapy due to the risk of developing an epileptic seizure). In elderly people and with CRF, the dose should be reduced.
